Unify Openscape Network & Contact Center
  • WHO?      O’Donoghue-Ring Group
  • WHEN?    2018

These hotels had very specific requirements and our client knew exactly what they needed from the new systems. The old systems on site were there for nearly 20 years and the first challenge was to provide a project plan that would allow us remove the old systems and install the new with little or no downtime.

The 3 hotels needed to be networked via IP on private fibre. We implemented a universal numbering plan for the properties over 600 telephone extensions on Openscape Business X8 systems. All existing primary rate ISDN lines & numbers were migrated to our SIP trunk platform. Moving the calls to SIP gives us a greater level of control allowing us to manage the sites internal & external traffic.

Bespoke auto attendants direct the inbound traffic to the relevant departments and each property has a option for reservations. The central reservations is located in the Plaza hotel & we implemented an Openscape Contact Center application to provide call statistics, inbound queues & agent CTI interfaces. The built in Myreports module gives management granular information on all inbound / outbound contacts.

The solution has proven to be robust, extremely flexible & more importantly has met our clients needs.

Ubiquiti UNIFI Wi-Fi Network
  • WHO?      Garryvoe Hotel & Bayview Hotel
  • WHEN?    2019

Wifi is no longer an option in the hospitality industry and guests are now demanding high performance wifi. We only use Ubiquiti for our wifi installations and over the years have seen the access points and support software evolve to the stage it is at now – truly class leading.‍We used Mikrotik Routerboards for the connection to the Eir gigabit fibre broadband. On these high performance gateways we setup two Ubiquiti Unifi wireless networks. The Cloud Controller from Unifi allows us manage all the access points via the cloud – this simplifies software updates and means we are instantly aware of any outages.

We used AC Pro access points – features include the latest Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 3×3 MIMO technology in a refined industrial design and is ideal for deployment of maximum‑performance wireless networks.

The Unifi controller also facilitates the controller app that runs on Android & Apple OS. We have found that the hotel staff can benefit greatly from this application by always knowing how the network is performing. A quick glance at the app will highlight any issues such as disconnected access points or poor performance. All our Wi-Fi installations are backed up by our excellent technical support – remote & on-site.
